The college started on 18th July,1949 with the subjects : Physics,  Chemistry, Mathematics, English, Marathi and Hindi. Late Shri S.L. Pandharipande was the founder Principal of the college.
In    1952 the subjects Botany and Zoology and in 1953 the subject Goology were introduced in the Degree course.
We celebrated “SILVER JUBILEE”of the college during the  year 1974. Dr.M.A Chansarkar former Vice Chancellor of R.T.M. Nagpur University inaugurated  the Silver Jubilee celebrations on 23rd December, 1973.   
During the year 1986 the subject – "ELECTRONICS’’ was introduced at B.Sc. Degree level by Dr.B.M.Murhar the then Principal of the college .Later  in the year 1999 the UGC approved Vocational subject "INDUSTRIAL CHEMISTRY " was introduced at B.Sc. Degree level by  Dr. T.S.V. . Naidu, the then Principal of the college.
We celebrated “GOLDEN JUBILEE “  of the  college during the year 1999.
Various Academic, Cultural and Entertainment Programmes  were arranged. Marathi Drama “SAWAR-RE” was staged at Vasantrao Deshpande Hall and one Act play "HASERI  UTHATHEO"’ by Sadanand Chandekar, Pune was staged at Kamgar Kalyan Kendra, Nagpur. 
UGC approved Carrier Oriented course in " Solar energy " of 6 months duration is available.
